American Baby Faire

Well the family hit the annual baby fair in Atlanta this past weekend. We were looking forward to the baby crawl, which as it turns out, was not all it was cracked up to be. I'll get to that later.

The Baby Faire is in essence a big show of products and services that would be or could be useful to a family having a baby or having already had a baby. We got to talk to the fisher-price folks and see some new items that will be coming out. We got some info on some bottle nipples from Gerber. It wasn't as good as last year, but last year we had not yet had the girls, so it was all new to us.

Now this baby crawl event. Every hour they had a race, and the basic thing was, the baby could not get up and walk and the parents couldn't help. So in essence you had a bunch of babies ranging in age from our 9 month olds to at least a 13 month old. Well needless to say the older babies took off. Ours were doing ok until the announcer started in on his play by play and Harlan wanted to stop each time he talked to see what was going on. Now Lanier was fine until the first time she stopped. Then she turned to the right and took off. She went the distance, just sideways. Next year we are going to rack up with 18 month olds.
